Christopher (Chris) L. Wynn, a native of Douglasville, Ga. whose primary areas of focus at Miller & Wynn are criminal defense, family law, civil litigation, as well as juvenile and school tribunals. Wynn has served as Assistant County Attorney, Assistant Board of Education Attorney and former State Prosecutor, in addition to practicing law at Sherrod & Bernard and his firm. He now practices law in his home area of Carroll and Douglas Counties.
A graduate of R.S. Alexander High School in 1995, he was among the first in his family to attend college. At Georgia State University (GSU), he participated in Student Government, College Republicans, University Debate Team, and Mock Trial Team.
At GSU, Wynn served as the youngest member of the executive boards of both the West Metro Young Republicans and the Douglas County Republican party. He also participated in many local, state, and national political races. As a result, Chris was nominated to attend the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia, Pa.
Wynn attended law school at the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, MI. While in law school, he earned a spot on the school’s honor roll and dean’s list. He was also involved in the school’s Journal of Clinical & Practical Law, where he later became Managing Editor. In January of 2003, Chris graduated with top honors.
Remaining faithful to his roots, Wynn accepted a Judicial Clerkship with Judge W. O’Neal Dettmering in the State Court of Douglas County, Georgia. He later took a position in the Office of the Solicitor General of Douglas County, Georgia, as an Assistant Solicitor (Prosecutor for the State).
Wynn remained as a prosecutor until January of 2005. He left to accept a position with the law firm of Sherrod & Bernard, with a focus on Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, Domestic Relations and Family Law. While practicing at Sherrod and Bernard, Chris was able to assist his criminal clients by applying the knowledge and ability gained as a former prosecutor.
Further, Wynn served as Assistant General Counsel to the Douglas County School Board and Assistant County Attorney to Douglas County, Georgia. During this time, Wynn participated and was lead counsel on many prominent cases involving the County Government.
In January of 2008, Wynn decided to serve his clients better by becoming a sole practitioner. He opened his law practice as “Christopher L. Wynn, Esq., P.C.” in Douglasville, to serve various clients from across the metro Atlanta area. Wynn has represented clients in major drug trafficking, sexual assault, and aggravated assault cases.
Among his hobbies, Wynn was an avid supercross and motocross racer. This hobby led him to work as a stuntman for many seasons in the Batman Stunt Show at Six Flags Over Georgia. Falling off of burning buildings and wrecking motorcycles were among some of his specialties during the show.
Wynn feels fortunate to live and work in the same community where grew up. Married to the former Erin B. Winsley, they have two children, Jackson and Cooper.
